Huge, crisp russet fruit with a rich, nutty flavor. From Wurtenburg, Germany. Scab-free and seems very dependable. Yellowish flesh is fine-grained, firm, crisp, sweet, slightly tart and nutty-spicy. Intended as a fresh eating apple, but also used for cider. Taste improves after storage. Makes excellent apple pies. Flavour and sweetness improves after a few weeks in storage.
